The Long Island Cosmos paid a visit to Upper 90 in Hicksville Wednesday, April 8, giving their fans a first look at their new jersey.
Players Marcos Senna, Andres Flores, Mads, Lucky Mkosana, Adam Moffat, Seba, Hunter Gorskie and Danny Szetela, signed jerseys, player cards, T-shirts and other memorabilia for the fans that had waited in the line that weaved through the soccer store.
“It’s great to see the fans,” said Szetela. “They’re the ones there every weekend to support us on the field so when we can do something in return it’s great.”
Upper 90 has held several Cosmos events before, and manager Rich Rodriguez says the store does sells a lot of Cosmos gear.
“Kids love to see the players when we have them,” Rodriguez said.
The store, which is less than two years old and located at 183 Broadway, is more than just a place to buy soccer equipment. They have a practice facility, as well as a viewing area in the basement where soccer lovers can watch games on a large screen. They also make custom uniforms for several local club teams and often hold events, such as the one with the Cosmos players.
