John Charles Osterholm died on March 22 from injuries that resulted from a fall. Born on September 23, 1938 to Cynthia Newman Osterholm and Eric Osterholm of Port Washington, John was a 1956 graduate of Schreiber High School and attended Hobart College. He retired after many years in sales management with Velcro, USA. He and his wife Barbara resided in Wilton, CT, for 38 years and enjoyed frequent visits to a family home in Montauk with family and friends. An avid fisherman, his travels took him to Alaska, Maine, Mexico, Canada, as well as Montauk.
John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Osterholm, daughter Jill McClure, son-in-law Douglas McClure and grandsons Ian and Aidan McClure of Irvington, NY, as well as his brother William Osterholm of Port Washington, niece Allison White Vadhan of Washington, DC, and several cousins from Dallas and Austin, TX. His sister Kristin White Gould predeceased him on September 11, 2001.
A memorial service was held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Wilton, CT, on Saturday, April 11.
