A married couple was found dead in a suspected murder-suicide inside their Mastic Beach home on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

When one of the couple’s six children was locked out of the Woodside Drive home, an adult found 29-year-old Wayne Street lying on the ground and called 911 at 4:40 p.m., police said.

Officers who responded to scene found Street dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, and his 28-year-old wife, Jenni Lee Street, also dead from a gunshot wound, police said.

Their children, who were not injured, were taken to a local hospital, where Child Protective Services interviewed them.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
