On April 18 and 19, youth from Venturing Crew 130, which included teens from Massapqeua along with other venturers from Nassau County, participated in a homeless awareness and service program.
The youth spent the evening sleeping in a cardboard box with little comfort items. They also helped to collect and sort donated clothing and toiletries while others prepared a hot breakfast to serve to those less fortunate in New York City.
Venturing is a co-ed program of Boy Scouts of America for teens ages 14-21. For more information, visit Crew130.org or contact Art Woodard at 516-557-3604 or email awwoodard@hotmail.com.
