Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman Rebecca M. Alesia reminds residents that the early sale of seasonal beach stickers begins tomorrow, May 9. Starting that day, town residents may choose to get their beach stickers at certain locations ahead of time to avoid the rush during the Memorial Day weekend when some Town of Oyster Bay beaches will open for weekends only.
“So many residents enjoy the beautiful beaches that we have here in the Town of Oyster Bay and eagerly look forward to the first opportunity to enjoy those beaches during the Memorial Day weekend,” said Alesia. “Town residents who purchase a town beach sticker in advance of the beaches opening will avoid having to wait in line to purchase a sticker during the first few weekends of the beach season and be able to spend more time on the sand and less time in line.”
Beach stickers will be on sale daily, beginning on Saturday, may 9 at Tobay Beach, John J. Burns Town Park in Massapequa and Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park and Beach in Oyster Bay from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. In order to purchase a beach sticker, residents must bring their driver’s license and vehicle registration and must be in the vehicle they will use to drive to the beach since stickers are placed on the vehicle at the time of purchase. Only residents may purchase beach stickers for Town of Oyster Bay Beaches. Seasonal stickers are $60, which pay for themselves within three visits.
“Fun-filled days at Town of Oyster Bay beaches are not far off, and the beach sticker is a great value,” added Alesia. “It may be used at all Town of Oyster Bay beaches, so residents will have an opportunity to really enjoy the wonderful beaches we have here throughout the summer.”
Tobay, Centre Island, Philip B. Healey at Florence Avenue and Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Beaches will open for weekends only on Saturday, May 23. All Town of Oyster Bay beaches will open seven days a week beginning on Saturday, June 20. The beaches will remain open through Labor Day, Monday, September 7 and Tobay Beach (Oceanside only) will be open September 12 and 13, as well.
