Walter E. Gosden of Floral Park has been elected as the national director of the Classic Car Club of America, Inc. at the 62nd annual meeting of the club, held in Savannah, GA, for a three-year term.
Gosden has been a member of the club for more than four decades and has contributed historical articles for more than 30 years about the design of the automobile for the club’s publications.
He is the historian of the Village of Floral Park, founder and director of the Floral Park Historical Society, trustee of the Nassau County Historical Society and has a regular column and featured articles in Hemming’s Classic Car magazine. Gosden is a host and producer of an ongoing series that airs on 4 Village Studio in Floral Park. He has won numerous awards and worldwide recognition for his research and writing.
The Classic Car Club of America, founded in 1953, restores and preserves distinctive motor cars that had been produced between 1915 and 1948. The club provides a channel of communication of the significant history for those interested in these cars. The membership of the Classic Car Club of America is international, with approximately 5,000 members, headquartered in Chicago.
