Movie At The Library

See Big Eyes at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library. Walter Keane became a worldwide celebrity and talk show fixture in the 1950s after he pioneered the mass production of prints of big-eyed kids, and used his marketing savvy to sell them cheaply. Unfortunately, he claimed to be the artist. That role was played by Margaret, his shy wife. The ruse broke up their marriage and led to a divorce and a dramatic courtroom battle to prove authorship of the paintings. Starring: Amy Adams, Christoph Waltz, Krysten Ritter, Jason Schwartzman. Evening With Frank Sinatra

From 7 to 10 p.m. at St. Gertrude’s Parish Centre, Bayville. Bayville Friends of the Library present an evening of Sinatra tunes, starring Donny Farro. $20 per person advance tickets at the Bayville Library, or $25 per person at the door. BYOB cocktail hour, coffee and dessert.

Assemblyman Michael Montesano, in partnership with Nassau County, is sponsoring the KidPix Program in the Green Room of the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library from 2 to 4:30 p.m. You will receive an identification card with your child’s photo, scanned fingerprint and basic information. The annual fair takes place on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Nature Walk

Take a guided nature walk through Hoffman Center nature preserve and wildlife sanctuary at 6000 Northern Blvd. in Muttontown from 1 to 2 p.m. Admission is $5. Memorial Day Parade

The Quentin Roosevelt Post #4 of the America Legion will hold their 96th annual Memorial Day Parade at 10:30 a.m. The parade begins on South Street, Adams Street and Burtis Avenue, continues on East Main Street to Ship Points Lane. The parade ends at the Derby-Hall Bandstand on Audrey Avenue. To participate in the parade or volunteer to transport veterans, call Commander Reginald Butt at 516-922-7135.
