Chi Kung (Qigong) Meditation
Tuesday, June 2, 9, 23 and 30 from 11 a.m. to noon. Chi Kung is recognized worldwide as a foundation of healing—physically mentally, emotionally and spiritually—easy to learn, always enjoyable.

Whiplash
Thursday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. and Friday, June 5 at 11 a.m. Join on June 4 and 5 for the film, Whiplash. Rated R 1 hour, 47minutes.

MHS Concert Performance
Monday, June 8 at 6:30 p.m. Members of Mineola High School’s Tri-M music honor society will perform a concert consisting of vocal and instrumental solos and ensemble pieces. The Tri-M Music Honor Society is designed to recognize students for their musical achievements, to inspire them to become leaders and to provide opportunities to engage them in service activities in our school community.

Thursday, June 11 at 2 p.m. At Natalie Naylor’s discussion of her book, Women of Long Island’s Past, you will hear about some of the remarkable women of LI, including Eleanor Roosevelt, Secret Garden author Frances Hodgson Burnett local suffragists and many more historical women.

Yoga Classes
Mondays, July 6, 13, 27 and Aug. 10 and 31 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Robert Crowe will introduce you to the beneficial practices that help you relax, meditate and reach optimum health.

Children’s Programs

Babysitting And First Aid Training Course
Thursday, May 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. Grades 5-12 may sign up to attend. If you would like to earn money by babysitting or being a Mother’s Helper during the summer, then join a babysitting program of first aid basics with Ilda Catuogno, M.S., an American Red Cross and American Heart Association certified instructor. You will receive a certificate of completion.

Party Like It’s 1499
Wednesday, June 3 at 4:30 p.m. Families and children are welcome to sign up. Enjoy viewing video clips of music that was popular over 50 years ago and pictures of art that were painted over 100 years ago. Each child may take home a picture of a painting.

Children’s Book Fair
Saturday, June 13 at 3 to 4:30 p.m. All ages may sign up. Meet, talk with, and get the autographs of local children’s book authors from Long Island. Authors/Illustrators include Selene Castrovilla, Bonnie Grubman, Tim Hoppey, JoAnn Krapp, Sandra Lanton, Ed Miller and Darren Sardelli.

LEGO Builders Club
Tuesdays, June 30, July 21 and Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. Kindergarteners and upper grades may sign-up for all three sessions. Create unique structures with our Lego pieces and meet with others who love to LEGO.

“Big Hero 6” Baymax Cupcake
Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 4 p.m. (sign up begins July 20). Decorate a delicious treat with frosting and different kinds of candy.

Dad’s Mug
Two sessions (Pick one): Wednesday, June 10 at 4:30 p.m. or Saturday, June 20 at 11 a.m. Ages 2 and up may sign up for both sessions. Join for a Father’s Day tale and make a travel mug for dad.
