The Women’s Club of Farmingdale recently hosted Cultural Arts Day at Singleton’s in Farmingdale. This is an annual event where Farmingdale High School students and members of local women’s clubs, compete for certificates and awards as they showcase their many talents in creative writing and art (including woodworking, pottery, ceramics, needlework, knitting, crocheting and sewing).
In the Art category there were several student winners. Geneva Ammonds, Sara McMonagle and Glorieanne Quiban placed first. Kelly Alvarado, Ariela DeLeon, Erik Horstmann and Glorieanne Quiban placed second. Madison Migliacci, Sandhya Rapelli and Kyle Serrian placed third.
Many students placed in the Large Woodwork category. Shannon McGuieness placed first , Desiree Lopez placed second and Brian Graham placed third.
In the Small Woodwork category student Ariana Riveris placed first.
Students placed in the Pottery category. Matthew Simak received a first place award and Carly Monteagudo received a second and third place award.
Students made placements in the Ceramics category. Zehpra Nicholas placed first, Alexis Campo placed second and Zephra Nicholas also placed third.
Farmingdale Women’s Club winners include Anna Ievolo who won first place in Creative Writing, Lynn Connolly who won first place in Needlework, Fran Rotondo who won second place in Art and Loda Romanelli who won third place in Art.
First Place student winners in all categories received monetary awards and certificates, and the monetary awards were matched by the Women’s Club of Farmingdale.
