Canon Collision To The Rescue
Two weeks ago, our daughter was involved in an automobile accident. She lost control of her vehicle after hitting a sizable pothole in the neighborhood. Although there was nobody else involved and she did not sustain more than a few scratches, our automobile was totaled out by the insurance company.
I’ve driven over these potholes in the past, and have been rather successful in avoiding them. However, driving into a pothole is sometimes unavoidable. I’ve noticed the distinct shimmy of the steering wheel when one of the tires lands in the hole—at certain speeds, it’s very easy to lose control of the wheel, especially in older cars.
Almost two years ago, when our daughter was a fledgling driver, she was involved in a broadside collision that left her vehicle completely damaged. We brought the car to Cannon Collision in Hicksville, and were promptly introduced to owner Paul Niederaur. Paul, who had both a cell phone in one ear and his landline phone in the other, was in the process of working out delivery for parts for a damaged vehicle in his yard. This guy was on top of things, and if he was working that hard to repair someone else’s car, perhaps he would offer us the same courtesy and care for ours.
He certainly did.
After Paul finished with his phone calls, he quickly discussed what we could expect from him. I wished I’d brought a pad along to take notes, because he was thorough and quite knowledgeable. He offered to get us a rental, in order to be sure that our daughter wouldn’t miss any time on campus. He’d also contacted the adjuster at our insurance company, to set up an appointment for the car to be evaluated. I was sufficiently impressed.
After a week or so, our vehicle was in better shape than it had been, even before the accident. I was so impressed with the work that Paul and his staff had done, I wrote a glowing review of their work on Yelp. I saved his number for future reference, should we ever need his services again.
When this most recent accident occurred, we immediately thought of Paul Niederaur, and brought our vehicle back for repairs. Paul took a look at the car, offered to get us a rental, and gave us phone numbers to contact, in case our insurance agent hadn’t given them. Paul told us that he would use the same communication efforts as the last time. I knew that we would be receiving excellent car care.
When the car was “totaled” by the insurance carrier, we realized that we had replaced so many parts on the car that it was essentially “kind of new”. The engine doesn’t have a lot of mileage on it, either, which prompted us to ask our agent about “salvaging” the car. We alerted Paul, who told us that, depending on the delivery of the parts, he could have the car back to us within a week’s time. That’s great service!
A Cannon Collision magnet is proudly displayed on our home refrigerator. If we should ever require Paul’s services again, we’ll be ready to bring our car down for a beautiful repair with excellent service. I hope you won’t need to have work done on your own vehicle, but if you should, you can find Cannon Collision at 27 First St., behind Robert Chevrolet. Tell Paul that I sent you!
