On Thursday, May 28, Roslyn High School senior parents hosted Senior Party 2015.
As always, the evening was a huge success and a night that traditionally bonds all the seniors together, reminding them of their kindergarten years at the Heights School through elementary and middle school and finalizing their journey at Roslyn High School. All their memories come to life and their friends from past to present come together in one room to celebrate their academic success.
This year’s theme was “R-Cloud,” the “R” standing, of course, for Roslyn. The high school gym was transformed into a cloud-like white atmosphere. Each scene was a saved moment of their life as seen in the R-Cloud using such mediums as Iphoto, Facebook, Snapshot and Twitter.
For the evening, the room was filled with flat screen videos highlighting popular events in the lives of the seniors from their kindergarten years to their latest achievement, graduation from Roslyn High School. Live videos of sporting events, marching band, theatre productions, and baby photos were playing throughout the night. A highlight that stopped the party was a live video produced by the Art Committee to include comical takes from administrators and staff members roasting senior class students.
As is tradition, parents host this event and the successful 2015 party would not be possible without the support of all the parent volunteers, local vendors donating all the food and supplies and the high school staff.
No project of this size can be done without a volunteer army giving their all. Party organizers would like to thank the senior parents who gave a great deal of their time to make this happen. As also is custom, meeting and planning for the party began in the fall of 2014 and completing the project was months in the making. Secondly, thanks also go to the Roslyn School District for allowing this wonderful tradition to continue and to Scott Andrews and Jay Pilnick for allowing the parents to take over the gym for the week. A special thank you goes to Kevin Carpenter and the members of the warehouse and school maintenance crew.
Finally, party organizers wish to thank all of the businesses listed below. They said that their generosity was overwhelming in support of the event.
