Bellerose-Floral Park Homemakers Council of Nassau County will hold its installation luncheon on Wednesday, June 10, at 1 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church on Spooner Street. Cost is $20 per person. All are welcome to attend. Call Tessie Boyle at 516-488-3182 for tickets and information.

Sewanhaka Central High School District’s SEPTA meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Sewanhaka High School’s library.


Thursday, June 11

Town of Hempstead will host a free senior citizen’s health and wellness fair at Lido Beach Town Park on Thursday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Southside Civic Association will meet on Thursday, June 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Floral Park pool building. This month’s meeting will include the inaugural presentation of the Thomas J. Hayden Citizenship Award in memory of friend and Southside resident Mayor Hayden, who recently passed away. The award will be presented to one of Floral Park’s outstanding leaders, whose integrity and commitment to the village pays homage to the strength of character demonstrated by Mayor Hayden, throughout his lifetime. All residents are welcome to attend to honor this great man and leader of the community. In addition, a member of the Floral Park Village Board will address residents’ concerns and questions. Light refreshments from Tulip Bakeshop will be served.

Bellerose Village Junior Women’s Club will host Paint On Glass Night on Friday, June 12, at 7:30 p.m. at 50 Superior Rd. Cost is $25 per person and benefits the YAI (Young Adult Institution). Floral Park’s grand opening of the new pool for pool members will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy DJ, giveaways, games, complimentary hot dog lunch, magician and more.

Town of Hempstead’s S.T.O.P. (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) program on Saturday, June 13, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bay Park on First Ave. in East Rockaway.

AARP Chapter 5224 of Floral Park will hold its installation luncheon on Monday, June 15, from noon to 4 p.m. at Koenig’s Restaurant at 86 S. Tyson Ave. in Floral Park. Congresswoman Kathleen Rice will host a mobile office at Floral Park’s village hall on Monday, June 15, from 9 to 11 a.m. and again from 4 to 7 p.m.
