Members of the Guida family joined with local elected officials at the street sign dedication ceremony and unveiling, which took place on the corner of Merritt Avenue and St. Mark’s Place in Massapequa. The location is near where Inspector Guida resided. Three intersections along Merritt Avenue will bear the name of the highly regarded officer. Inspector Guida, a 33 year veteran of the NYPD, was very active in the community including extensive service as a Troop Leader with the Boy Scout of America.

“He was loved and respected by residents of New York City as well as the Massapequa community he proudly called home,” Town Supervisor John Venditto said. “We were honored to conduct this ceremony to reflect upon his legacy and remember his sacrifice.” Among those on hand were New York State Senator Michael Venditto (left), New York State Assemblyman Joseph S.
