Andrew Ariza and the boys 4×800 meter relay team of seniors Chris Mueller, Dough Demagistris, Rob Lang and John Murray qualified to compete in the 2015 New York State Track and Field Championships at SUNY Albany.
Ariza is making his second appearance and the state meet for his elite performance in the 110 meter high hurdles. He has exploded onto the track and field scene and truly has become a force to be reckoned with.
The boys 4×8 team beat a young and talented Cold Spring Harbor squad who had a seed time just one second slower than Mineola going into the race. Mueller will also be representing Section VIII in the 3000 meter steeple chase, an event he has been dominant in of the past four years.
This group of seniors has been the backbone of Mineola track and will be sorely missed next year.
