A 30-year-old woman was killed while crossing a road in her hometown of Shirley on Friday morning.
Suffolk County police said Jessica Chaimowitz was trying to cross William Floyd Parkway at the intersection of Roberts Road when she was hit by a northbound pickup truck at 9:10 a.m.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was not injured.
Seventh Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash is asked to call them at 631-852-8752.
