ay Town Supervisor John Venditto.
“The summer months provide a great opportunity for many of us to relax outdoors with friends and family,” said Venditto. “While some prefer traveling to faraway vacation destinations, many local residents have told me that they enjoy the outstanding amenities available right here in the Town of Oyster Bay.”
The Town of Oyster Bay has all the necessary ingredients for an outstanding staycation. Whether you enjoy swimming, boating, sightseeing, hiking, golfing, sunbathing, dining or visiting museums, it’s all available to town residents. There is even a dog park for everyone’s favorite four-legged friends.
Along with the beautiful town beaches, ball fields, bike paths, parks, sanctuary’s and marinas, the Town of Oyster Bay has outstanding free programs like ‘Music Under the Stars’ and ‘Movies by Moonlight’ that are enjoyable for residents of all ages.
“All you need is a lawn chair or blanket and you have an evening of entertainment that is on par with any concert venue on Long Island,” said Venditto. “Relaxation is a prime reason to vacation and it would be difficult to find a more relaxing evening than listening to a great concert under a moonlit sky.”
Spray Parks, like those at Tobay Beach or Ellsworth W. Allen Town Park in Farmingdale, and community pools throughout the town, provide a cool experience for both kids and adults.
“If you want to mix in some education to your staycation, try visiting Sagamore Hill National Historic Site in Oyster Bay, the Planting Fields Arboretum or the Gregory Museum in Hicksville,” added Venditto. “If the weather isn’t cooperating, you still have plenty of indoor options with venues like the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center in Bethpage or the Hicksville Athletic Center.”
