The weather cooperated beautifully for Temple Judea’s annual Anniversary Celebration Under the Stars. Couples celebrating anniversaries ending in “5” or “0” were honored by Rabbi Todd Chizner.
The evening began in Lipsey Gardens with hors d’oeuvres, wine, and background music provided by the Kenahora trio. Rabbi Todd Chizner and Cantor Abbe Sher led the moving service and welcomed Shabbat under a Chuppah.
After the service, the anniversary celebration began. Each couple walked down the aisle, with the bride carrying a single red rose, to receive a special blessing from Rabbi Chizner and Cantor Sher as they honored the celebrants with a moving hymn. To commemorate the evening and their special anniversary, each couple received
a decorated certificate created for the occasion.
The evening concluded with everyone enjoying a dinner sponsored by the Sisterhood and Brotherhood. The service, which has become an annual event at Temple Judea, is a highlight of the temple’s summer services.
