Isabella Malfi Stars

Isabella_072915AIsabella Malfi, a local Great Neck teenager, recently starred in Expedition for the National Theatre for Student Artists. Malfi, an incoming junior at Great Neck South High School, was chosen for the starring role as Gail/Sacagawea in the production. She was selected for the role from a nationwide audition and talent search through The National Theatre for Student Artists.

The production of Expedition took place in Manhattan at the Fourth Street Theatre from July 23 through July 25.

Malfi was chosen to star in this Expedition production with
three other students from around
the country.

Expedition was written by Rae Binstock and directed by Alex Tobey.

Tommy Marr, a teacher at Great Neck South High School, introduced Malfi and many of the Theatre
South student members (members
of the school’s extracurricular
theater program) to this nationwide organization. Through the organization, students attend conferences and showcases to spotlight their talents.

This Expedition performance was surely not the first time Isabella
Malfi graced the Great Neck South Theatre stage; she has appeared
in many of these South High
productions, including, most
recently, Chicago and The Diary
of Anne Frank
. At age 4, the very young Malfi started her acting career as an angel in the St. Aloysius Christmas pageant.
