A 34-year-old man was who was shot in Hempstead nearly two weeks ago died six days later, Nassau County police said in a wanted poster released Tuesday, 12 days after the shooting.
Andre Bell was suffering from gunshot wounds to the head when he was found in a vehicle near the corner of Kennedy and Harold avenues at 2:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, according to the Crime Stoppers-issued flyer seeking tips in the case.
The victim died of his injuries on Aug. 20, police said. Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the case as a murder.
Nassau police did not issue a news release to alert the media and the public about the shooting death before investigators released the poster seeking tips to help solve the case.
A police spokesman said that there was no additional information available regarding the investigation.
