North Massapequa Fire Department Chief Kevin B. Mauro (right) and Ex-Chief Marc A. Timpano, who also serves as a North Massapequa Fire District commissioner (left), recently joined in presenting the annual Carmelo Bartolotto North Massapequa Fire Department Scholarship to Thomas F. McCarthy, a resident of North Massapequa, who will attend SUNY New Paltz in the Fall.
McCarthy, an Eagle Scout, excelled in the classroom and in community service, which earned him the coveted scholarship. Looking on proudly was his father Chris, who is a longtime firefighter with the North Massapequa Fire Department’s Ladder Company 1.
