The Floral Park Memorial High School PTSA will meet at the high school on Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 17

Floral Park North End Civic Association will hold its membership meeting on Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Reliance Fire House on Holland Avenue. Guest speaker will be Mayor Tom Tweedy. New members welcome.

Registration is open for the Adult Education Program with the Sewanhaka Central High School District, open to district residents 18 years and older, offers classes such as recreational volleyball, ballroom dancing and an introduction to Microsoft Office, among others. Programs will be held at Elmont Memorial High School, Floral Park Memorial High School, H. Frank Carey High School and New Hyde Park Memorial High School. Registration will be held on Sept. 17 and Sept. 29, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Floral Park Memorial High School and on Sept. 24, from 7 to 10 p.m. at New Hyde Park Memorial High School. Floral Park Memorial High School Alumni Orchestra performance to benefit the Dr. Thomas Pinto Memorial Scholarship Fund will be held on Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the recreation center.

Floral Park Memorial High School Homecoming Parade will step off from the high school on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m.

The Annual Covert Avenue Street Fair will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along Covert Avenue, from Tulip to Cisney avenues.

Nassau County’s Cruise To The Show will be held on Sept. 26 and Sept. 27 at Eisenhower Park. Check out the Mopar/Jeep Show on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the park. Parade of cars on Sunday from Bethpage to Eisenhower Park. Admission is free. Call 516-572-0200 for details.

The Friends of Stewart Manor will hold a village-wide flea market on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the village parking lot at Chester and Covert avenues. Ongoing Programs

FISH Of Floral Park Provides free transportation to and from medical appointments for senior citizens who are residents of the Floral Park/Bellerose area and cannot afford cab fare or who have no other means of transportation. Should you or a loved one need transportation to a medical appointment, contact FISH at 516-835-9522 or telephone coordinator Fran Hornberger at 516-775-0740.

Floral Park United Methodist Church Thrift Shop at 35 Verbena Ave. Open every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations accepted.  Call 516-354-4969.

The Marine Corps League meets at the Elks Club on Lakeville Road in New Hyde Park. The Marines meet on the second Thursday of each month at 8 p.m. Call Vinny at 516-926-9813.

Women with metastatic breast cancer are invited to join a support group that meets on Thursdays, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The free group is a program of the Adelphi NY statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program and meets at the Adelphi University School of Social Work. At the Bellerose Jewish Center, located at 254-04 Union Tpke., in Floral Park: free Jewish education for kindergarten and Sunday School children. A thorough religious curriculum with experienced teachers for third grade to their bar/bat mitzvah is also provided.
