Nutrition For Your Mind
Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. It has been proven that there is a link between nutrition and brain health. This lecture will focus on the foods that can help brain function, as well as which ones to avoid.

Defensive Driving Course
Saturday, Oct. 10 at 10:15 a.m. 4:15 p.m. This course is open to individuals of all ages. Checks in the amount of $27 are payable to Empire Safety Council. Forty participants may attend the course.
The Steel Silk Band Concert Performance
Saturday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. Founded in 2014, the Steel Silk Band will surprise you when you hear big songs from big artists that bring back some of your fondest memories from yester-year. Listen to Billy Joel, Donna Summer, Heart, Alecia Keys, Styx, Whitney Houston and more.

Alexa Politis In Concert
Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. Join for an exciting afternoon performance with singer and dancer, Alexa Politis. Enjoy listening to a variety of Broadway and current pop songs.

Blood Drive At The Library
The library will be hosting a Blood Drive by the Long Island Blood Services on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please donate now. Please register at the reference desk or 516-746-8488 Ext. 2. Walk-ins are always welcome.

Youth Programs

Adopt-a-Shelf Volunteers; Book Review Volunteers; Toy Paramedics Volunteers: grades 6-12, open registration.

Video Game Tournament
Thursday, Oct. 29, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Kids and teens 6-12 grades may sign up to attend. Enter a video game tournament, enjoy some snacks, play new games. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each tournament.

Graphic Novel Club
Tuesdays, Oct. 27, Nov. 24, 4 to 5 p.m. Kids and teens 6-12 grade may sign up to attend. Discover what’s new in the world of graphic novels, manga and anime. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be raffled off.

Children’s Programs

Make A Halloween Costume
Friday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. Grade 1 and up may sign up to attend. Decorate a pair of wings or a cape for your Halloween costume.

Pokémon Gaming Club
Tuesday, Oct. 13, Tuesday, Nov. 17, 4 to 5 p.m. Open registration for ages 7 and up. Meet other Pokémon fans, trade cards, battle Pokemon with them on your Nintendo DS or on the library’s Nintendo Wii. Free raffle prizes will be given away.

Little Notes Music Class
Wednesdays: Oct. 14, 21, and 28 at 10:30 a.m. Ages 3 months to 5 years (with a caregiver) may attend. In person only sign up. A $10 per person, non-refundable, exact cash only materials fee is due at sign-up— (covers all three sessions). This 45 minute “Little Notes Music” class will include songs, rhythmic chants, movement, and instrumental jam sessions.

Junior Chefs: Candy Corn On The Cob
Friday, Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. Grades 3 and up may sign up to attend. Using candy corn, frosting, and a cake roll, you make a candy and cake version of corn on the cob. There may be food allergens.

LEGO Builders Club
Mondays Oct. 19, and Nov. 9 at 4:30 p.m. Kindergarten and up may sign up for all three sessions. Create unique structures with LEGO pieces and meet others who love to LEGO for fun.
