A 27-year-old man was fatally struck by an SUV while he was crossing a road in his hometown of Rocky Point on Wednesday evening.
Suffolk County police said Chamale Cubule was walking across Route 25A when he was struck by an eastbound Hyundai Santa Fe just east of Rocky Point Road at 11:35 p.m.
The victim was pronounced dead. The driver was not charged.
Seventh Squad detectives impounded the vehicle, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call them at 631-852-8752.
