North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Councilman Peter Zuckerman recently announced that Albertson, Roslyn and Roslyn Heights are among several communities across the town that received full-scale roadway resurfacing projects. These plans were part of the Highway Department 2015 season, where more than 50,000 linear feet of town roads were repaved.
“Having safe and newly resurfaced roads is a top priority of our administration and we include road resurfacing each year in our capital plan,” Bosworth said.
More than 7,400 feet of roadway was repaved in these areas of Council District 2 this past paving season, including Saddle Lane, Horseshoe Lane, Pasture Lane, Hill Lane, Farm Lane and Knoll Lane in Albertson and Roslyn Heights, and Town Path in Roslyn.
“Ensuring that our roads continue to be paved consistently is critical to maintaining the high quality of life that our residents deserve,” Zuckerman said
Other large-scale roadway repaving projects took place in Port Washington, Great Neck, New Hyde Park, Garden City Park and Manhasset.
According to the town’s Highway Department, there are several different ways that particular roads are chosen for resurfacing each year. One way is through a list generated annually by the area foreman prioritizing roadways that require resurfacing.
