The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour kicked off the 2015-16 concert series on Sept. 20 with two young violinists in Michelle Stern Heifetz, an 11-year-old native of Douglaston and Kenta Nomura, 16, of Jericho.
Heifetz played selections from Beethoven, Wieniawsky, Grasse, Bloch, and Bruch and Nomura played selections from Tchaikovsky, Bach, Paganini and Ysaye. Nelson Padgett accompanied them on the piano.
The next concert will be on Sunday, Oct. 18. Kageki Nagao will be playing the double bass and Jeanine Nagao will working the French Horn. Both will be accompanied by Marie Blair on the piano.
A free will donation is required. All concerts are at 2 p.m. and followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
