October is Fire Prevention Month and in recognition, the Great Neck Alert Fire Company is hosting an open house on Sunday, Oct. 18.
The open house will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. at the company’s headquarters on 555 Middle Neck Rd.
Volunteer firefighters will demonstrate tools and equipment used to protect the people, residences and businesses in the Great Neck community. Important information on fire safety and prevention will be available.
Company officers and firefighters will be on hand to answer questions and information for those interested in becoming members. Refreshments will be served and there will be giveaways for kids.
The Great Neck Alert Fire Company has been providing volunteer service to the community for more than 100 years. The 150 members of the Alert Fire Department provide fire protection and rescue services to the residents of Great Neck.
