Carl Gerrato is running for the Nassau County 8th Legislative District.

Carl Gerrato is a lifelong resident of the district. He is a Nassau County correction officer who has worked and volunteered in public safety for more than 30 years. Most recently, he advocated for returning the 5th Police Precinct to full operation. He serves in various leadership positions in the Franklin Square Civilian Patrol and believes that active involvement in the communities and government is critical to successful and safe communities.

He’s a Sewanhaka High School graduate and has had service with the Elmont and Franklin Square-Munson fire departments since high school, for more than 27 combined years of service.

Gerrato is EMT certified and has been or is active with: Franklin Square Civilian Patrol, Save the 5th Precinct, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 44, Franklin Square Kiwanis, Nassau County Parade Officials, Cub Scout Pack 372 Den Leader, Franklin Square Historical Society, Sons of Italy, 14th Brigade 1st Battalion 71st regiment Military Police Detachment NY Guard, Fraternal Order of Police, Citizen’s Budget Advisory Committee, Nassau County Sheriff’s Correction Officers Benevolent Association, Nassau County Sheriff’s Department Columbia Association, Fireman’s Association of the State of New York The Nassau County Drill Team Captain’s Association and Nassau County Fireman’s Association.
Gerrato and his wife Cathy have five children and one grandson.
