The Village of Great Neck Plaza is partnering with the American Legion and AARP and acting as a drop-off point for a food drive that will benefit veterans. As part of the food drive, the American Legion and AARP are asking those interested in supporting this cause to donate the following:
• High-protein food, such as tuna, beans and peanut butter; canned fruit, vegetables and soups; starches, such as pancake and potato mixes, pasta, rice and cereal as well as other canned products. Please refrain from donating glass items due to the risk of breakage.
• Non-food items, such as paper towels, toothpaste, soaps, detergents and diapers.
Donations can be made at any of the five drop-off sites:

Town of North Hempstead, 220 Plandome Rd., Manhasset , NY 11030
Village of New Hyde Park, 1420 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, NY 11040
Clinton G. Martin Park, 1601 Marcus Ave. (at New Hyde Park Road), New Hyde Park, NY 11042
New Hyde Park Public Library, 155 Lakeville Rd., New Hyde Park, NY 11040
