Donate A Christmas Tree To A Military Family

Vets_Trees_AHelp make the holidays a little brighter for a military family by donating a Christmas tree through the “Trees for Troops” national campaign at Martin Viette Nurseries.

“We’re very excited to be part of the Trees for Troops national campaign again this year”, says Michael Ireland, co-president of Martin Viette Nurseries. “The simple gesture of receiving a fresh-cut Christmas tree means so much to a military family. The Martin Viette staff is anxious to support this most worthwhile campaign to make the holidays a little brighter for the military and their families all over the world.”

Martin Viette Nurseries will collect all of the donated trees and notes, and prepare them for their journey. The Trees for Troops program, in coordination with FedEx, handles the rest. In December, thousands of trees from all over the United States will be delivered to families on 60 military bases, worldwide.

Visit Martin Viette Nurseries, 6050 Northern Blvd. in East Norwich now through Nov. 30, to donate a balsam fir tree to the Trees for Troops campaign. These beautiful balsam firs, family grown in Nova Scotia, are carefully nurtured and sheared for best shape and density, then cut at the very last moment to ensure the longest lasting trees.

Visit Martin Viette through Monday, Nov. 30, to purchase a ‘Trees for Troops’ tree for $29.50. Tree cards are available to write a special note of thanks or holiday wishes to the recipients. Or, call the Martin Viette Trees for Troops hotline at 516-922-5530 (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) to purchase a tree over the phone with a credit card or place an order on the Martin Viette website (www.martinviette.com).
