LNW-11-11-15.inddWelcome to Long Island Weekly

Dear Neighbor,

It is my distinct pleasure to announce the relaunch of Long Island Weekly, the latest addition to the Anton Media Group family. As we enter our third year of publishing Long Island Weekly, we’re taking what we’ve been doing so well in terms of covering arts, entertainment and lifestyle trends and making it even better thanks to our crack staff of award-winning writers. I’m very excited about this new chapter that is being driven by our historic partnership with Newsday. It’s a move that will allow Long Island Weekly to expand well beyond our current audience to readers in communities like Rockville Centre, Long Beach, Atlantic Beach and Point Lookout to begin with, and continue to provide the stellar content our subscribers have come to expect.

Anton Media Group President Frank Virga put it best when he said that, “This is a groundbreaking partnership where the dominant daily newspaper in your market and the dominant community newspaper group in your market have forged an unprecedented alliance that will deliver something that no one has ever seen.”

As the publisher of 17 other weekly newspapers—Farmingdale Observer, Floral Park Dispatch, Garden City Life, Glen Cove Record Pilot, Great Neck Record, Hicksville News, Levittown Tribune, Manhasset Press, Massapequa Observer, Mineola American, New Hyde Park Illustrated News, Oyster Bay Enterprise-Pilot, Plainview-Old Bethpage Herald, The Roslyn News, Port Washington News, Syosset-Jericho Tribune and The Westbury Times—we know the territory and what makes Long Island so special.

We plan to have our Wednesday publish date be a standing appointment with our readers thanks to the quality and scope of what we’ll be bringing to your home. We get the ball rolling with our cover story about Al Pacino’s return to Broadway via David Mamet’s China Doll, some of the upscale Asian cuisine you’ll encounter at Flushing’s Brasserie du Dragon and some relief afforded to grieving Mets fans by way of our chat with current third base coach Tim Teufel. Expect more of the same in the ensuing weeks and I hope you’ll love reading Long Island Weekly as much as we love putting it together week after week.
