Northampton Drugged-driving Crash Leaves 2 Dead

An accused drugged driver died after allegedly causing a crash that killed a 26-year-old woman in Northampton on Friday afternoon, Southampton Town Police said.

Brendon McKee, 24, of Center Moriches, was driving a Toyota Scion northbound on Lake Avenue when he crossed over the double yellow lines, sideswiped a GMC SUV and then crashed head on into a Nissan Altima at 2:23 p.m., police said.

The driver of the Nissan, Courtney Pivirotto, of Eastport, was pronounced dead at the scene.

McKee was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital, where he died of his injuries. He was charged with driving while under the influence of drugs before he died.
