Massapequa High School’s music ensembles brought sounds of joy to the community during its annual holiday concert.
Performances by the Women’s Chorus, Symphony Orchestra, and A Cappella Choir directed by Ilena Dempsey, Marjorie Spagnuolo and Nichole Greene, respectively, had audience members smiling and applauding in delight as they delivered a festive variety of songs. Among them were “Believe” from The Polar Express, “Sleigh Ride,” “Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” and “Chanukah Festival Overture.”
“It is always a joyous occasion when we can share the accomplishments of our student musicians with the community,” said Music Curriculum Associate Dr. David Gaines.

In addition to the community concert, the high school held its evening holiday concert for parents and family members and its holiday alumni concert where Massapequa High School graduates were called to the stage to perform.
