The Manhasset Mothers’ Group (MGM) held a Fall Festival at the Onderdonk House. Cars gave way to pony rides—under the watchful eye of the chickens, ducks and rabbits in the petting zoo, of course. Children hand-fed llamas, and a vocal goat, while waiting to take their turn.
Event organizers and MGM members Elizabeth McCann and Nicole Bisgeier, said, “We were really excited to bring the Fall Festival back again, and [we] think a fun time was had by all.”
About 75 children attended the event, which, along with the pony rides and petting zoo, featured glitter tattoos, popcorn machines, crafts and sweet treats.
Plenty of monsters, witches, pumpkin, ghosts and lions were soon running riot thanks to the make-your-own-mask station. The build-your-own Twinkie Monster table was definitely popular and gave little creative minds, and bodies, plenty of fuel to keep the party going.
MGM Copresidents Holly Wilson and Karen Baumbach acknowledged that an amazing time was had by all and thanked the North Strathmore Civic Association for allowing the use of historic Onderdonk House for the event. Wilson and Baumbach also extended their thanks to all MGM members involved in the setup, coordination and cleanup of the event.
The MGM is a member-based organization that holds a number of regular events throughout the year. For more information about the Mothers’ Group of Manhasset, including membership, visit www.manhassetmothersgroup.com.
