Frank A. D’Elia

Frank A. D’Elia, Port Washington attorney for 54 years, who resided in Southampton for 25 years, died on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at his home in West Palm Beach, FL. He was deeply loved by all his family and will be sorely missed.

Frank attended St. John’s University, received his LLB from Brooklyn Law School in 1959 and was admitted to practice in the New York State courts the same year. The Port Washington law firm of Neier & Daiker announced that they had maVersion 2de Frank a partner in 1967. In addition to the practice of law, he was active in the Port Washington Republican Club and was president in 1966. He was also active in Lions, was a member of the John Michael Marino Lodge, Sons of Italy, Nassau County Bar Association, and various cancer and cerebral palsy campaigns, Catholic Charities and various local groups. He was active in St. Peter of Alcantara church and school and was a former president of the school board.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne D’Elia (Rollauer), his two sons Gregory and Christopher, his daughter-in-law Rosemary and four granddaughters, Reilly, Meg, Adrienne and Francesca.

The wake was held at Austin F. Knowles, Inc. Funeral Home, 128 Main St., on Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass was held at St. Peter of Alcantara RC Church on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Southampton Animal Shelter in Frank’s name.
