North Amityville Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, Another Wounded

A shooting left a 21-year-old man dead in his hometown of North Amityville and injured another early Thursday morning, Suffolk County police said

First Precinct patrol officers responded to 911 calls reporting shots fired on Glenmalure Street, where they found Malik Abdullah and a second victim suffering from gunshot wounds in the street at 2:17 a.m., police said.

Abdullah was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, also a 21-year-old North Amityville man, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the shooting to call them at 631-852-6392 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
