Adventures Adds New Directors

AdventuresBoard_011316AAdventures in Learning’s Board of Directors is proud to announce the appointments of Manhasset residents Connie Parsons and Michael Ryan to its board. They replace board members Bill Ross and Ramon Parsons, whose terms just AdventuresBoard_011316Bended.
Adventures’ Executive Director Diana Holden saluted their appointments, stating, “First of all, I wish to recognize and to thank Bill Ross and Ramon Parsons, both longtime supporters, for their tremendous board work and contributions to Adventures. And now I welcome both Connie Parsons and Michael Ryan, who are also at the forefront of community leadership. I am delighted that they have joined our board and look forward to working with them.”
Connie Parsons grew up in Manhasset, graduated from Barnard College and received a law degree from Hofstra Law School. She is also a member of the New York Bar Association. With her husband, Ramon, she returned to Manhasset from Baltimore to raise her family. An active Manhasset community resident, she was involved with the SCA, the Manhasset Womens Coalition Against Breast Cancer and the LI2Day Walk for many years. She is a member of both the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church and the Congregational Church. Parsons is a property manager in Astoria who enjoys hiking, biking, reading and cooking. She resides with her family in Munsey Park.
Michael Ryan moved to Manhasset nearly 10 years ago with his family. He is a member of the Congregational Church and an active golf, tennis and platform tennis player. Ryan is a steadfast volunteer for RBC’s Race for the Kids and Youth INC. He works in Capital Markets for the Royal Bank of Canada.
In regard to her board appointment, Parsons remarked that “Adventures is a wonderful organization and I am so happy to be a part of it. I am most honored to be invited to serve on its board.”
