Steve Reiter was sworn into the position of Great Neck Water Pollution Control District (GNWPCD) commissioner after recently being reelected to the office for his second consecutive three-year term. He was also reappointed secretary of the District’s Board of Commissioners.
Reiter has been a businessman, civic leader and Great Neck resident for more than 30 years and during his most recent term, helped secure more than $2 million in grants to the district for numerous upgrades and improvement projects. With his help, the district did not raise the tax levy on district residents for 2016 and completed the major installation of its microturbine cogeneration facility to reduce costs to the taxpayer.
