The red hottest ticket in town is for The Red Party. Break out your favorite red (lipstick counts) and come celebrate with fellow Port Washington music and art lovers at The Red Party. Join HEARTS and congratulate the 2016 grant recipients. In 2016, over $55,000 will be awarded to grants that span the Port Washington Public School District. In only three years, HEARTS has awarded nearly $145,000 for arts programming in the Port Washington community.
The Red Party will be held at the beautiful Hempstead House in the Sands Point Preserve at 127 Middle Neck Rd. in Sands Point from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10 (with special thanks to Fusion Productions). Proceeds from The Red Party will benefit HEARTS’ mission to support the arts in Port Washington Schools.
The Red Party will be red hot with live jazz by the Bach to Rock Staff Band, a talented professional band comprised of teachers from Bach to Rock. Utilizing years of experience as touring pros, recording artists and talented music teachers, the band plays all styles of music ranging from current and classic pop and rock to jazz, soul, classical and more. There will also be performances by some of the talented kids from Curtain’s Up (2015 and 2016 grant recipient) and by jazz duo Joey Clateman (piano) and Jordan Lerner (saxophone).
Delectable and modern petit plats will be catered by local caterer Chef for a Night. There will be wine and beer (from Vintage Grapes) and cupcakes by Crazy Cakes. Artist Michelle Shain will present “Compendia,” a watercolor exhibit to benefit HEARTS, featuring 24 original watercolor paintings that will be available for purchase. There will also be an opportunity to bid on fun and unique art and music-inspired raffles.
HEARTS is possible only because of donations from community members who are committed to supporting quality arts education.
