Kindergarten through second grade students of Hampton Street Elementary School recently participated in the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart Program. This program took place during physical education class and taught the young students about the importance of heart health. Through instruction and participation in various physical activities, the students learned how the heart works as well as how exercise affects their own hearts. Furthermore, students had the opportunity to make a difference within the community by raising funds in support of the American Heart Association’s research and education initiatives. The young students of Hampton Street should feel very proud as they raised $4,000. Congratulations to all that were involved.
