During a brief ceremony in front of family and coaches, 13 more Massapequa High School senior athletes have signed letters of intent to play sports at the collegiate level, bringing the number to 39 students so far this school year.
Signing from Massapequa’s three-time state championship girls soccer team were Briana Furci, with Marist College, Melanie Hingher with Fairfield University, Skylar Vitiello with University of Hartford, Rebecca White with Rider University, and Mikayla Pugliese and Olivia Rohrecker with SUNY New Paltz.
From the boys soccer team, Peter Meyer will play for West Point, Dylan Nealis for Georgetown University and Jacob Liese for Elmira University.
Varsity football quarterback Bradley Baldinger signed with Denison College, while girls lacrosse player Kole Pollock will join the team at Adelphi University and softball players Sydney Tamburello and Jessica Vento will play for York College of Pennsylvania and St. Joseph’s College, respectively.
“Your accomplishments are to be celebrated,” said John Piropato, director of health, physical education and athletics. “You have made Massapequa proud and I know you will continue to make us proud throughout your college careers.”
Dr. Barbara Williams, principal of Massapequa High School, also commended the students for their achievements and advised them to “always remember where you came from and to give back to your community.”
