County Executive Ed Mangano requests flags to be flown at half staff.
“On Sunday, March 6th, 2016, former First Lady Nancy Reagan passed away. As the wife of the fortieth President of the United States of America, Ronald Reagan, she was one of the most influential first ladies. She will always be greatly respected and remembered for her aggressive “Just Say No” anti-drug campaign, and for her advocacy in recent years to put greater focus and resources into finding a cure for Alzheimer.
By the authority vested in me as County Executive, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at all Nassau County government buildings effective immediately until sunset, March 16, 2016, as a mark of respect of the memory of Nancy Reagan and in honor of her service to the Nation as First Lady.”
