Current programs on Great Neck Public Schools Television (GNPS/TV) are Focus on Education, GNPS/TV Spotlight, Student Filmmakers Showcase and Martin Luther King, Jr.

Focus on Education is an ongoing series hosted by Superintendent of Schools Teresa Prendergast, highlighting what’s new and interesting in the district. This edition of Focus features Gerald Cozine, North Middle School’s new principal. Cozine traveled just a few miles north for this new position, from South Middle School, where he served as an assistant principal for eight years. This program airs at 8 a.m. and at 12, 4 and 8 p.m.
GNPS/TV Spotlight features school news, sports and events in a lively, magazine format. This edition of Spotlight focuses on South High School. Highlights include the musical, Into the Woods, Pep Rally, Coffee House, Charity Volleyball Night and more. Spotlight was filmed, edited and produced entirely by South High students. Anchors are Haley Raphael and Lauren Reiss; executive producers are Jonathan Arevalo, Abraham Rosloff and Michael Shen. This program airs at 9 a.m. and 1, 5 and 9 p.m.
GNPS Student Filmmakers Showcase is a new program that highlights short films produced, edited and directed by middle and high school students. View a variety of films and styles, including silent films, movie trailers, documentaries, fictional films and more. Robert Zahn, district educational cable TV producer/director, is the show’s host. The program airs at 10 a.m. and at 2, 6 and 10 p.m.
South High School’s annual assembly program on diversity and unity celebrates the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This inspiring program is reflective of Dr. King’s words that people be judged not by “the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Dr. King is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience. Featured at South High’s event are poetry readings, skits, music, dance and song. This show airs at 11 a.m. and at 3, 7 and 11 p.m.
