Bohemia Man Killed Husband, Wife in DWI Crash, Cops Say

An accused drunken driver was arrested for allegedly causing the crash that killed a man and his wife in Ronkonkoma on Sunday night, Suffolk County police said.

Kyle Glinka, 23, of Bohemia, was driving an Audi A4 southbound on Ocean Avenue when his car crashed into a Chevrolet pickup truck that was making a left turn at 9:03 p.m., police said.

The victims, 67-year-old William Kear and his 66-year-old wife, Joanne, of Medford, were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where they were pronounced dead.

Glinka was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Stony Brook University Hospital and was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Major Case Unit Detectives impounded both vehicles, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone who may have witnessed this crash to call them at 631-852-6553.
