South High School will sponsor its fourth annual St. Baldrick’s Event on Wednesday, April 13, at 3 p.m. in the school auditorium at 341 Lakeville Rd.
Participants will shave their heads to raise money for childhood cancer research and to show support for those who have lost their hair in their fight against cancer. The event is open to the public and all are welcome to participate.
To sign up for this meaningful headshaving event, go to www.stbaldricks.org/events/mypage/9430/2016 and click the Join Us button. Donations can also be made by clicking on Donate.
Last year’s St. Baldrick’s event raised $16,770 for this worthy cause. South High student teams also participate, including the Robotics Team and the DECA Business Club Team.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization, except for the U.S. government. For more information, contact South High Assistant Principal John Duggan at jduggan@greatneck.k12.ny.us.
