Westbury athlete Jeff Steinberg was among the top award winners in the Northwell Health 39th annual Aspire 10 kilometer run on April 2.
Steinberg scored as the 35th finisher overall in a field of 625 finishers, and earned the first place award in the highly competitive 50-54 age group, crossing the finish line in 39 minutes, 54 seconds.
The event traversed a 6.2 mile course that started and finished at the H.B. Mattlin Middle School in Plainview, and the 625 runners braved a steady rain that morning to successfully complete the course.
“We were thrilled by the great number of folks from Westbury who turned out for the Aspire Run,” noted Race Director Karen Schackner of the host Greater Long Island Running Club. “Best of all, Jeff Steinberg is a gifted athlete and is to be congratulated for his efforts on April 2.”
