Congratulations to Colin Renner, this week’s Mineola Athlete of the Week. Renner is a senior, team captain of the Mineola boys lacrosse team. He is a three-year member of the varsity club. He currently leads the team with 23 points (10 goals and 13 assists) through five games and is closing on 100 career points. Last year, as a junior, he was one of the Mustangs’ leading scorers with 52 points (36 goals and 16 assists). He was an All-County Honorable Mention selection and helped lead the Mustangs to their first county finals appearance since 1962. As a sophomore, Renner was an important contributor on a Mustangs team that reached its second consecutive county semi-final. Renner totaled 11 goals and 6 assists in his sophomore year. Renner will go on to play lacrosse at Oneonta.
