The Town of North Hempstead’s 4th Annual Trashion Show, which was scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Yes We Can Community Center has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 20.
Designed to spread the powerful message of Recycle, Reuse and Rethink, the annual contest invites students to create wearable fashion using reclaimed materials. In addition to focusing on the importance of recycling, the Trashion Show showcases our students’ work and creativity. Students are then invited to model their creations on the runway at the Platinum-LEED Certified Yes We Can Community Center. In addition to the show, the winning designs will be displayed in the gallery of the center.

The Trashion show is accepting entries featuring wearable fashion created using reclaimed materials until Thursday, April 7.  Students interested in participating this year can submit entries to either the Yes We Can Community Center at 141 Garden St., Westbury, NY 11590 or the Town’s Solid Waste Management Authority at 802 West Shore Rd., Port Washington, NY 11050.
