Congratulations to Emily Skupp, this week’s Mineola Athletic Department Athlete of the Week.
Skupp has been a standout on the girls softball team for the last four years. As an eighth-grader, Skupp competed as a pitcher on the varsity level and earned All County honors. Since then she has earned that honor in every season. As a four-time All County softball player, Skupp recently signed to attend and play softball at Salve Regina University in Rhode Island. In addition to her prowess as a softball player, Skupp was also a part of Mineola’s track program as a cross country and winter track athlete. Most importantly, Skupp is an excellent student as she maintains a 91 average in school.
The Mineola School District is proud of Skupp’s accomplishments on the field and in the classroom. She is a model student athlete that peers can look to for an example of hard work, leadership and humility.
