The Wheatley Athletic Program is honored to recognize the accomplishments of senior Samantha Palazzolo, from East Williston. Palazzolo recently signed a letter of commitment to continue her impressive academic and athletic career at Bentley University, in the Northeast 10 Conference.
Palazzolo is a returning four-year starter and two-year captain for the Wildcat Softball team. Last season, she earned Second Team All-State Softball recognition. She is a returning All-County 2015, All-County 2014 and All-Conference 2013 member of the varsity softball team. As one of Wheatley’s most complete athletes, Palazzolo has also earned All-Conference recognition in both varsity field hockey and varsity indoor track. Palazzolo performs at the highest level on the field and is a role model to all of Wheatley’s athletes. She has been a major contributor to field hockey, winter track and softball. This year the field hockey program was canceled due to low numbers and Palazzolo displayed her tremendous athletic ability by joining the varsity soccer team. As a novice to the sport of soccer, Palazzolo made a positive contribution as a replacement goalie in a must win game.
Palazzolo’s outstanding transcript speaks for itself. Her outstanding efforts in the classroom, as a member of the National Honor Society, and on the athletic fields as an All-County level performer demonstrate an exceptional student-athlete. With all that Palazzolo does in the classroom and athletic venues she still finds the time to participate in community service and volunteer her talents to help others. Palazzolo finds a way to make a difference. She is also a talented artist, a member of the art club and a featured artist at the LIU Post High School Art Exhibit.
Palazzolo recently signed her Letter of Intent to attend Bentley University to compete in softball. Her academic scholarship and athletic prowess will allow Palazzolo to continue her pursuit of excellence.
