Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center’s Kids For Kehilla Committee will host a pizza party philanthropy workshop on Saturday, May 14, and will kick off its chocolate bar fundraising initiative on Monday, May 16, with all proceeds benefiting the Camp Kehilla Scholarship Fund.
Kids For Kehilla is a fundraising and educational committee comprised of children aged 6-12, along with their parents, who work year-round to fundraise for the Camp Kehilla Scholarship Fund. The committee was formed with the purpose of teaching children the value of philanthropy and the importance of giving back while raising much needed funds for Camp Kehilla. This past fall, the committee raised more than $4,000 through the sale of raffle tickets to support the scholarship fund.
The committee has partnered with Nassau Candy Specialty Confections & Fine Foods in Hicksville to sell chocolate bars from May 16-22 at $20 per bar. Those who make purchases will be entered into a raffle and will qualify to win a grand prize tour of their chocolate factory. All proceeds directly benefit the Camp Kehilla Scholarship Fund.
